The End of Ireland as a sovereign, independent, democratic state.
NO to Lisbon Campaign
On 12th June 2008, voters in Ireland rejected the EU Lisbon Treaty by 53.4% to 46.6% in a national referendum.
The reaction across Europe showed how determined EU leaders are to ram through the Lisbon Treaty to increase their own power. It also shows their level of contempt for the Irish voters:
"They (The Irish) are bloody fools. They have been stuffing their faces at Europe's expense for years and now they dump us in the s**t." Nicolas Sarkozy, French President (Times 20th June 2008)
"The Lisbon Treaty is not dead..... It is imperative that they (The Irish) vote again" Valery Gisgard d'Estaiing, former French President and author of the EU Constitution (RTL, 19th June 2008).

Q1: Have the so-called guarantees/assurances changed the Lisbon Treaty in any way?
Answer: No! These "guarantees/assurances" are NOT part of the treaty.
Because if one dot or comma of the treaty were changed it would have to be re-ratified by each member state, which has not happened.
These "assurances" are simply promises by politicians designed to distract us from the fact that the same treaty is being imposed on us again. On Friday 2nd October 2009
we will be voting on EXACTLY THE SAME TREATY WE REJECTED IN 2008
Q2: But why are we being asked to vote again on the same treaty?
Answer: Because our Taoiseach, Mr Brian Cowen, who is head of our government, and in fact our paid servant, is duty bound to represent and uphold the will of the Irish people.
He has reneged on his duty and has betrayed us by telling other EU leaders to continue ratification of Lisbon because Ireland would rerun the referendum and get the "correct" answer the second time.
Article 6 Bunreact Na hEireann
1)All powers of government, legislative, executive and judicial, derive, under God from the people, who's right it is to designate the rulers of the state and, in final appeal, to decide all questions of national policy, according
to the requirements of the common good.
Mr Cowen in fact seems in fact to be acting as an agent to the EU, wanting to force us against our will into a European super-state, instead of acting as leader of our Irish State which, according to Article 5 of our constitution, is "a sovereign independent and democratic state."
Q3: Why is Ireland the only country to have a referendum on this treaty?
Answer: Because under our own Irish Constitution the power is in the hands of the Irish people (See Article 6 above) and we alone can surrender that power by referendum. In order for the power we Irish hold to be transferred to this new EU Super-State that the Lisbon Treaty would create, we must first give our permission.
If we give this power away we can never get it back.
Q4: But what about the Lisbon Treaty, don't we need to ratify it so as to avoid a crisis in the EU?
Answer: NO. There will be no crisis in the EU if we VOTE NO again. The only "crisis" will be for the EU unelected elite who will have failed in their second attempt to gain total control over all the people of Europe.
Q5: But what about at the remaining heart of Europe?
Answer: We are at the heart of Europe. If we vote no we will remain full members of the EU under existing Nice-based Treaties and also full members of the Euro.
Q6.But what about the current Economic Crisis, surely we need Lisbon to sort this out?
Answer Definitely not. The Lisbon Treaty has been designed under the influence of the very same policies that are responsible for the current crisis, the erosion of our living standards, and the democratic deficit of the EU.
Q7: But what is so different about the Lisbon Treaty that is undemocratic?
Let's compare our system of government with the system proposed under the Lisbon treaty.
Under our own Irish Constitution "Bunreacht Na hEireann"
- You are the legislator (See Article 6 above)
- When you vote in a general election you temporarily transfer that power to your politicians who legislate on your behalf.
- You know your politicians and you can meet them and let your views be known
- If you disagree and take back that power in the next election.
In the EU under the Lisbon Treaty
-
You have no legislative power.
- The MEP you elect cannot propose a single law.
- You do not know who your legislators are.
- You cannot vote for those who legislate. You have no access to them.
- You cannot have them removed if you disagree.
- You have no access to deliberations or discussions that take place. Everything is done behind closed doors and in secret.
- These unelected bureaucrats will enjoy lifelong immunity (Protocol No 7 Article 11)
Consider the fact that the Lisbon Treaty is self-amending. This will mean that there will be no need for future referendums. You will lose your right to self-government.
That is the real purpose of this referendum, to change the Irish Constitution so as to make EU law superior to Irish Law
